UNIQUE MOMENTS

This picture is so important to my mother. We were in the Plaza Grande North of Quito, Ecuador. It was Christmas day 1993. That day was the first time that we could take a walk. We were very elegant with the best and unique outfit that we had for taking a walk. For that important day, my parents had saved a little money.  My father was 28 years old and my mother was 23 years old. My sister was 2 years old and I was 5 years old.

We ate guatita which is Quiteña traditional food but we ate in a kiosk on the street because is cheaper. After that, we went to Plaza Grande to take the photo. My mother did not want that we get our new clothes dirty but my sister and I wanted to play all time. Then, when we were ready, the photo was taken but I had closed my eyes at that moment. That happened because the best thing I wanted to do was play. My mother was so happy and very busy with us that she hadn't looked at that mistake in the photo until we got home.

My mother got the photo of that important moment but it was not the best. Honestly, every time that she looked at the photo she was sad. Honestly, every time that she looked at the photo she was sad and happy at the same time. In fact, she says that nothing is perfect in the life and the things that you can touch can disappear or stray but your memories will not.  These remain forever and no one can steal them.

My mother is right and I have to add something to her wisdom. There is nothing that cannot have a solution. I say this because the photo that I showed was fixed and now it is in the living room. Finally, while you are alive you can fix anything that you want. Now we can fix any photo with technology. Your moments are unique and unrepeatable. Please enjoy of them and if you can fix them. JUST DO IT.
