MY RELATIONSHIP WITH LANGUAGES

 MY RELATIONSHIP WITH LANGUAGES

Six years ago, I graduated from the university as an economist; it was the best thing in my life because in my family I was the first person who graduated from college. Fortunately, I got a job one year before my graduation so I didn't have to search for a job, which was great for my family and me. In fact, I met a good friend who is also an economist. His knowledge let me learn a lot. I say fortunately because it so difficult to get a job when you don’t have enough experience.

Consequently, all those six years I learned many things about economics and I have been studying English and Korean at the same time.  I decided to study both languages three years ago but English had been so difficult for me.  Amazingly when I started to study Korean, I understood English. Surprisingly, I could pass every level and now I am in superior writing. I say this because I had never thought of studying English, much less Korean.

I didn't like studying English because I studied again and again in high school and University, but it wasn't for me. For that reason, I chose another language that would let me study in another country, but the first requirement was to speak and write English very well. Therefore, I decided to study Korean. Unfortunately, in South Korea it is also important to know English to study for my master’s degree. Indeed, it is more important that Korean, so I am now studying English.

I learned something very important: it doesn't matter how many times you said no. If you have a goal in your life, you have to overcome your obstacles to be a winner. In the end, everything is to improve your life. Honestly, it is very true that if I had not tried to overcome my obstacle, I wouldn´t now be learning two languages that I enjoy them.
